I also found what looks like a second, earlier dependency gap sitting in front of the ZeroMQ issue you reported. Running the helper directly:

fails with:

Can't locate Unix/Syslog.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Unix::Syslog module)

This happens before the script reaches the ZeroMQ check you found further down (your report shows the error at line 145; mine hits Unix::Syslog at line 56). I confirmed this can't be worked around by setting
PERL5LIB
— the script's shebang is
#!/usr/bin/perl -T
(taint mode), which deliberately ignores externally-set environment variables like
PERL5LIB
for security reasons, so even correctly exporting the variable before invocation has no effect. This looks like the same underlying class of problem as your ZeroMQ finding — a missing/undeclared Perl module dependency in the
carbonio-amavisd
package — just a second one, blocking earlier in the script.

Worth noting for anyone else troubleshooting this: mail flow, Amavis, and SpamAssassin all continue working correctly despite this — only these three auxiliary helper processes are affected, matching what's already been reported.
