How to Add Address Books at Domain and Global Level with Zextras Mobile | Zimbra

Zextras Suite introduces a feature called Address Book which defines an emulated LDAP server that acts as a public address book, in order to access the Zimbra Global Address List (GAL), the user’s own Address Books, and other Admin-defined Address Books. By default, the Zextras Address Book provides access to the user’s GAL and the user’s own address book and contacts, and other users’ address books such as shared ones are not visible in the Address Book. However, it is possible for the administrator to expose additional address books at the domain and global level. The only difference is that the additional address books can be only exposed by the administrators.

Here we show you how these additional address books can be added to the end-users account.

Additional Address Books can be exposed by the Administrator at the domain and global levels through the zxsuite mobile addressBook command.

At the global level

zxsuite mobile addressBook add global {user1example.com} {all|folder id}

At the domain level

zxsuite mobile addressBook add domain {domain} {user@example.com} {all|folder id}

For example, the contact folder ID of the user is by default 2, therefore,

To add the contacts folder of the user user@example.com to the address book of all users in the system

zxsuite mobile addressBook add global user@example.com 2

To add the contacts folder of the user user@example.com to the address book of all users in the domain domain.com

zxsuite mobile addressBook add domain domain.com user@example.com 2
