Activesync Is managed by mobile module. This module is not present in Carbonio CE. Hence, it is not working in your test.

I don't understand, that this feature is not available in Carbonio CE, because this feature is described in the documentation of CE. Look:

By default it doesn't but we can add a third part software called Z-Push that's an Open Source implementation of ActiveSync protocol and it works great.
I did a tutorial about how to install and get it working on Zimbra OSE but it works great in Carbonio CE as well.
The tutorial was written in Portuguese but you can use Google Translator.
