I am running Carbonio CE 24.9.1 (24.9.7).
I am having problem with Contact Group. I can create a new contact group but it doesn't show up so it is not possible to view or edit. When I select the group in To:/Cc:/Bcc: during mail composing, it is gone the moment it is selected.
Am I missing something or current version of Carboniois not able to handle it?
@djpark
I checked this and seems like a bug.
Just for the sake of clearance: (Following Information)
Host OS: Ubuntu 22.04LTS
Carbonio CE Version: Carbonio Release 24.9.1
Current Behavior:
Creating new contact groups with multiple addresses is not working. After adding multiple contacts we can still see 0 addresses in the addresses list.
Steps to Reproduce:
- I created a Contact Group: Team1
- Set Group Name: Team1
- Addresses List: added following emails (test1@example.com, test2@example.com, test3@example.com)
- Save
I will report it to the devs.
Regards,
Sharif
Just to test further: once the contact group is saved (and looks like it's empty), try to add some new contacts to it (new ones or the ones you tried before) and look at what is happening.
The newly created contact group does not appear in the contact page and there is no way to add or edit the contact members. In Zimbra, the contact page has contact, group and distribution sections but in Carbonio there is only contact and no others.
Hello Everyone,
After my discussion with the devs, I came to know that the actual procedures to create contact group are following:
- Click on "New Contact Group"
- Write the "Group Name" (i.e. group1)
- Type address that you want to add in this group.
- After typing the address, click the (+) icon to add the address in the group.
- If the address is added successfully in the group, then you will be able to see the address in the body of the windows with a "REMOVE" button.
- Now save the group.
Something like this:

4. After typing the address, click the (+) icon to add the address in the group.
I carefully compared the way how the contact group is created. I have to admit that the step 4 was not done as the member addresses appeared. The result is that the member email addresses are not saved in the dlist field. When it is done correctly, selecting behavior of the group in mail recipient fields work correctly.
However, still the contact group doesn't appear in the contact list for edit unlike Zimbra.
