hello,
Once again I come with an error that would be very good to take into account. When sharing the inbox folder with another user, an error occurs when accepting the invitation, indicating that something went wrong, and in the log you can see that it indicates that the inbox folder already exists, so it would be very good if make the mount point in a different root so that this error does not bounce, I suggest something like "mntfolder" and mount the shared folder inside.
Hi @ssanisaca,
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention!
It seems that the error you’re encountering is because it’s not possible to subscribe to a shared folder that has the same name as an existing folder in the destination account. Since Inbox is a default folder in every account, this conflict occurs when trying to share it.
As a workaround, you can manually rename the shared folder during the acceptance process. When you receive the share invitation, use the option to rename the folder, such as Leo's Inbox instead of Inbox. This should allow the share to be accepted without any issues.
We're actively working on improving the error message to make it clearer that the problem is related to a folder name conflict. This will help users avoid confusion and resolve the issue more easily.
Thanks again for your feedback!
Best regards,
Luca
Hi,
Thank you very much, I didn't know that you could change your name before accepting the invitation. Great information!!!
Hello,
What would be the consequences of previously having shared folders with the "same name issue" in Zimbra, and then migrating the account to Carbonio?
I'm asking this because I'm currently facing a major problem with folder management.
As described in this post: https://community.zextras.com/forum/postid/9268/, many of my customers have a large number of folders and shared folders. When they attempt to create a new folder or move an email, the browser freezes, and memory usage spikes. This results in the desktop CPU reaching 100%, causing significant performance issues.
Could both issues be related? or is it purely a web client limitation?
Thank you
Hi @antonio,
Thank you for raising this important question!
By my understanding, Zimbra doesn’t support having multiple folders with the same name ... maybe we are referring to different use-cases?
Regarding the problem in your other post, where creating a new folder or moving an email causes the browser to freeze and spikes CPU usage, we are actively working on improving UI responsiveness and reducing load times.
I’ll look into this scenario to verify if the improvement already developed fixes or mitigates the issue, and I will update the threads as soon as I have more information.
Thank you again for your detailed feedback—this helps us prioritize the right improvements!
Best regards,
Luca
