Hello everyone,

Installed Zextras Carbonio. The goal is to migrate  my Zimbra 8.8 domais do the Carbonio server. The new server is doing well except for a few issues:

1 - Files quota, Files does no seem to obey the quota defined in COS, Domain definitions nor mail account definitions, I defined a quota g 2.5GB but I can upload a lot more in files.

2 -  The '-1' option to set unlimited number of accounts in a domain does not look to work, when I set -1 I cannot create more e-mail accounts

I want to start using Carbonio in production but I am not feeling very confident. Are there many people using Carbonio CE in production?  I would appreciate arguments to change those feelings.

Thank you

JCV

Hello,

I'm using Carbonio in production already on some customers and things are going pretty well. Some minor issues here and there but nothing that I could call a deal breaker =)

Answering your questions:

1 - try to set quotas using "cli"

zmprov ma usr@domain zimbraMailQuota QUOTA_IN_BYTES

it works

2 - By default domains don't have restrictions to the number of accounts it can have. But if you want to set a limit that can also be done by "cli"

zmprov md domain.foo zimbraDomainMaxAccounts 200

That will limit it to 200 accounts.

To make it unlimited just remove it

zmprov md domain.foo -zimbraDomainMaxAccounts 200

Hope it helps you.

Hello @anahuac

Thank you for your reply. I defined the quota on domain, COS, and now per user. The problem is that, in files, I can upload as many files as I want, there is no size limit. This is a problem, I cannot put the server in production because any user could easily blow up my server.

Thank you

JCV

Guys,

I have been testing this and @JVC is right: quota limits doesn't apply to Files. That way an user can upload as many files it wants to the server despite it's mailbox quota.

That's a serious issue =(

@sharif and @stefanodavid may you pleas confirm that and let us know if there is a workaround?

Hi guys,

I am so sorry for getting into it this late. I am checking the issue myself, and If I find any inconsistency, I will report it to the dev teams. And definitely will also update you.

Sorry guys, for the trouble.

Take care 🙂

Thanks and regards,

Sharif

Thank you. I´ll wait.  After that, can I be confident to put the server in production, are there any dark clouds I should know about?

I´ll be happy to participate actively in the community, reporting and suggesting. I can also help with pt-PT translation. I've been using Zimbra for almost 20 years, I whish the same for Carbonio.

Thank you, I didn't know, I don't use telegram. GitHub discussions would be a good place to.

@JVC we will provide updates as soon as we have it. We have little influence on the developers' priorities...

Hello @stefanodavid @anahuac @sharif after update to 24.1, I tested files quota again and the situation is still the same, no limit to upload. Do you have any news about the subject. It is a very important issue.

Thank you

JCV
