FreeIPA, Carbonio CE and Carbonio

Hi,
I had an idea to integrate Carbonio CE and FreeIPA but it was unsuccessful
It refuses to work in any of the ways I've tried. I've already tried to connect my FreeIPA as an External LDAP, as AD , and as Kerberos. None of them work. Carbonio doesn't see users created in FreeIPA and won't let them log in. Although the ldapsearch with my parameters retrieve the necessary data from Carbonio host. 
I suspect the Carbonio Community Edition is missing some necessary components and I should use the paid version.
Has anyone been able to use FreeIPA with Carbonio Community Edition or Carbonio ?
