From what it seems ( https://community.zextras.com/forum/carbonio-general-thread/push-notifications-in-android-and-ios-mobile-applications/ ) the APP (android) does not have implemented the option to configure alerts prior to an event. The ideal would be that X minutes before the event on the phone you could see a notification of the event.
This is a very demanded request by users, so another option would be that each user could share their calendar with a password to be able to import it into other calendar APPs on the phone.
There is the option to share the calendar in ICS URL and OUTLOOK URL format, but in both cases it is shared without the possibility of adding a password, so anyone guessing the URL (it is a very easy format to guess) would have access to a user's calendar from the Internet.
Is it possible to share the calendar URL by adding a password ?

When you create an appointment in the calendar both from the web interface and from the APP, you can configure the notification (reminder).
The reminder works correctly when you are connected through the browser, 5 minutes before the meeting you are shown a reminder.
On the other hand, for the same event, the APP does not show any reminder.
I would say that the problem is not in the event configuration, but in the APP, which does not show any reminder.

By the way, the same thing happens in the APP with the reception of mails. When you receive new emails, the APP does not give any kind of notification.
