Just figured out this issue in Zimbra last week, so I opened a bugzilla case for it.

https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=109437

I took a look at Carbonio source code, just in case, and I think this bug affects Carbonio too at the moment.
If I'm not mistaken, zmfixperms script will change the owner for "carbonio.log" file to user zextras, which will cause a similar issue on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 as in Zimbra.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for opening bug reports, but I didn't find another place to do so. 🙂
