Been reading a lot on this here and on the web with a lot of contradictions. Yes you can, no it doesn't work, use the Zextras license for zimbra on Carbonio...so I'm looking for a current answer.
I had Zimbre OES for years with the Zextras suite. Set EAS version for Samsung, last version was 16. Worked fine. Moved to hosted Zimbra still worked as the migration kept it at 16 for that phone. Got a new Samsung Galaxy and EAS is at 2.5. Problems searching email, protocol not supported, calendar events not all syncing.... I'm told by the provider they can't change that setting and Activesync is no longer supported by Zimbra. So I'm looking at Carbonio and bringing it in house. Can it do what Zimbra did with EAS?
I'm no fan of Microsoft, but in not interested in switching back to old Imap technology as some suggest and putting a huge mailbox on my phone either.
Hi,
As EAS (a microsoft proprietary component) exists in Zextras suite, If you still have active suite license I would request you to open a ticket in our support portal ( https://helpdesk.zextras.com/hc/en-us ) regarding any issue with EAS.
With EOL of Zimbra OSE, Zextras suite also reached it's EOL since July 10th, 2025. For you information:
Date | Event |
---|---|
July 10th, 2025 | End of development and new version releases |
December 31st, 2025 | End of technical support (tickets & assistance) |
December 31st, 2025 | Last day to purchase new licenses or renew active contracts |
Now Zextras offers Carbonio and Carbonio CE (Community Edition). Where, Carbonio contains all the features like: EAS, backup etc. If you are interested in Carbonio, you can submit your queries by filling out this form and one of our team members would get in touch with you to understand the feasibility.
