Proxy doesn't start after adding new certificate for VirtualHostName

I'm installed Carbonio and everything works file until I try to add a certificate for a new VirtualHostName:

Starting proxy...nginx: [emerg] could not build map_hash, you should increase map_hash_bucket_size: 32
   failed

I tried increasing proxy_server_names_hash_max_size and proxy_server_names_hash_bucket_size but no dice, I'm with an essentially broken install because the proxy never turns on. This is the second install and the same thing happens.
