Hello all,
After upgrading to version 24.9.5, one of my customers is experiencing difficulties when creating new folders on some of his accounts. These accounts have a large number of shared folders with other accounts on the same domain. For instance, some folders are shared among 5 accounts with more than 100 shares.
I’ve verified this issue using Chrome, Firefox, and Opera on Ubuntu.
When attempting to create a new folder, the browser's pop-up window opens as expected. However, the browser quickly begins consuming excessive local memory, causing a spike in CPU usage. Eventually, the page becomes unresponsive and hangs.
This problem does not occur when there are no shares or only a few. There are no errors on the server side, but I have to mention that I have a slow hard disk.
Could the slow hard disk be a valid cause? We did not experience this issue in previous versions.
Has anyone else encountered this behavior or have any suggestions for a workaround?
Thank you, and cheers to the team and community for the great work!
Antonio

Hello, just to update this issue.
This same behavior can be experienced when moving a file to another folder when having a huge shared folder list.
Also, my computer load raised above 100 until firefox just crashed. Server remains normal.
Thank in advance for any comments or ideas

Hi,
I wanted to provide another update on this issue:
The same problem occurs not only with shared folders but also with large numbers of regular folders. I’ve discovered that managing folder within an account with 1,700 folders (e.g., creating new ones or moving items) is almost impossible.
Additionally, we have another account with 3,636 folders, many of which are shared, and it's completely unusable.
It’s worth mentioning that these customers were migrated from Zimbra and have been using the system for over 10 years.
Now we’ve been using Carbonio for the last 3 months, and this behavior was not detected in previous versions - only after upgrading to 24.9.
Could this problem be the result of a code change in this version? Would Carbonio Mail be able to handle accounts of this size and complexity?
Thank you
