I am using zimbra 8.0.3 + ZeXtras mobile 1.8.6 trial with iPhone iOS 6.1.3.
In Outlook it is possible to assign different "categories" to contacts. Then it was possible to search within outlook for a categorie and the you get the people listed.
On zimbra it seems that "tags" is the replacement for "categories". But the tags will not be synced to iOS.
Question:
- Is this ZeXtras / EAS related?
- Is this iOS / calendar app related?
- Is this OSI layer 8 problem?
The intention is to have different groups/categories in iPhone contacts to get a quick overview of all users belonging to one group/category.
Further on zimbra you could create "mailing lists" or "distribution groups" - could not find the correct translation from german "Verteilergruppe". This is listed in contacts on zimbra web GUI.
Question:

The intention is to search within contacts on the iPhone for a "mailing list" and then send an email to all the reciepents or a SMS.
