Affected Components: Mailbox / Message list (shell-ui), Indexing
Description: The message list in Carbonio only shows sender + subject. The classic Zimbra behavior of showing a short auto-generated preview snippet of the body under
the subject never appears — the space stays blank for every message, regardless of content type.
Server OS: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Carbonio Version: 26.6.2 (Community Edition)
Current Behavior: No fragment/preview text is ever shown in the message list, for any message (checked HTML reports, plain text mail, migrated mail via imapsync, and
freshly SMTP-delivered mail).
Expected Behavior: Each message should carry a short auto-generated text fragment (as in Zimbra 8/9), shown in the list under the subject.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set zimbraPrefShowFragments=TRUE on the account/COS (already the default) — confirmed it does not affect the result.
2. Send/receive any message (plain text or HTML) into a Carbonio CE mailbox.
3. Open the mailbox in the web UI — the message list row shows only sender and subject, no preview snippet.
4. To confirm it's backend-side, not a UI rendering issue: authenticate and call SearchRequest directly via SOAP (same call the UI makes) — the returned <m> element
has no fr="..." attribute at all.
5. Tried zmprov reIndexMailbox <account> start — no effect, fragment still absent.
