HI Everyone,

I am in the process of migrating to a new Carbonio server on a new host - I have managed to re created the accounts and migrate the email, but I need to do the same for the data in Carbonio files.

When I was using Zimbra you were able to download the whole files directory as an archive - is there a similar way I can do this with Carbonio? or is there a method to directly transfer the file between the two servers?

I am hoping to keep the same folder structure on the new server.

Hi,

The "Files" feature in Carbonio CE is different from the "Briefcase" feature in Zimbra OSE. The architecture behind them is also different. Therefore, transferring the content of Briefcase to Carbonio CE Files is not possible. You need to download them manually from the respective Zimbra OSE account to the Carbonio CE account.

Regards,

Sharif

the files need to be transferred to the same accounts with the same logins and same settings, just on a different carbonio server.

@sharif I am not able to view the attachment you have sent.

Are the files kept in the database?
am I able to do a DB export and import them on the new server?

It is not a large amount of data, but there are a large number of files for a few different users so individually downloading and re uploading the files will be very time consuming.

I am not very familiar with the command line syntax for interacting with the files module - is there a reference guide available?

Both servers are running Carbonio Release 24.3.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS

If this is not possible or needs a third party tool to complete - please let me know.

Also - I am happy to download them in bulk from the old server and upload them again to the new one (as I did when we migrated from Zimbra) I just want to avoid needing to do each file one at a time

I have managed to put all of the file in a single folder - but I cannot see any way to download that folder - If I share the folder is still doesn't give me any option to download the whole thing.

If the system can calculate the size of the folder for quota management, surely there is a way I can download it either from the command line on the server or from the web interface.

can anyone please help me with this?

Am I think only one who needs to manage the files in the files app?
I have not been able to find any documentation about it of how to manage the data from the command line or the web interface.

So it seems that there is no way to do this I have posted on a few forums and had no response to the same question.
If this is the case then I think that the files modules is not in a production ready state. This is very unfortunate as I have a number of users who use it and extensively.

I was able to upload the files in bulk when I transferred the files from Zimbra. I'm sure that this is possible, but there is no documentation and no one appears to know.
