Hi,

We are moving from a single server Zimbra FOSS (8.0.6) to a multi-server Zimbra NE installation (8.8.9).

Orig: 1 MTA/Proxy + 1 Store/LDAP
Dest: 2 MTA/Proxy + 3 Store + 2 LDAP + 1 zDocs

We have ~2000 users, 20 mail domains and 10TB of info.

Based on incremental migration guide , which we used succesfully in the past. The migration procedure will be:
1) Backup to a disk (virtual disk)
2) Present that disk to dest server
3) Restore
4) Repeat procedure until we can perform a last and short backup/restore operation.

This is the first time we are going to migrate (using Zextras Migration tool) to Zimbra NE using the NG toolset at the dest servers. So some questions come to our mind. Although, we will test this in lab enviroment, any kind help you could provide is more than welcome:
q1) Can we backup orig with Zextras Migration tool and then restore it in dest servers using the now embeded Zimbra NG backup tool?
q2) As we are moving from 1 store server to 3 store servers, could you give us some ideas on how to do this? Like for instance via script (or maybe filter on the webui interface?) saying which accounts to migrate in each server like a-h, i-p and q-z. If this was possible, we will try to find out how to split our users so we can distribute roughly the same space among the 3 new servers.
q3) Any other thing, tip or observation?

Thank you very much!

PS: Some of the guides we are already checking out https://wiki.zextras.com/wiki/Zx_Backup:_Migration_Tool_Import ; https://wiki.zextras.com/wiki/ZxBackup:_Incremental_migration_with_ZeXtras_Backup
