Hello,
Sorry, but I have to write this one:
I have been using Zimbra for at least 10 years now.
Zextras Mobile and Backup for 1 year.
Recently I received an email from Zextras, informing, that I do not have to worry about the future of my Zimbra anymore, as Zextras have prepared the 9 and 10 versions. Of course on "open source" basis. Great.
So I downloaded and upgraded my 8.8 version with the 9 version from Zextras.
And what now?
Now it turned out, that I cannot use Zimbra repositories for this version.
This version cannot be upgraded to any other, that supports Zimbra repositories.
Now I have to wait, when Zextras workers will be bored enough at work to make and publish ANY "open source" update. Otherwise I am stuck.
The only positive thing is I am stuck with my "10 user" instance. I have not managed to implement it on my 200 user instance.
Or maybe I am wrong and there is a way of updating my existing Zextras Zimbra 9 with a version that supports normal Zimbra repos?
Thank you in advance for any help!
You could always migrate to Carbonio or one of the builds on the Zimbra forums that uses the Zimbra repositories or even migrate to the ZCS 10 OSE build.
You can use my docker image (see https://forums.zimbra.org/viewtopic.php?t=72209) to rebuild zimbra 9 yourself super easily (if you use an rhel8 compatible os)
@kordian Nop, it's only for RHEL8 for now (as it's what I'm using). Adding support for Ubuntu probably isn't that hard, but I don't know if I'll have time to do it anytime soon
OK, there is a solution. Upgrading to this version works and hopefully I will be able to get all the latest patches.
