Hi,

What is the easiest way to do such an upgrade?
And what are the benifits using Zimbra 9 by Zextras instead of Zimbra 8.8?

Greetz,

Richard

Hi!

You can easily upgrade it as you do normally with Zimbra versions. I suggest, for sure, to do a backup first.

About the benefits, you can take a look here for a description.

Hi there,

Does anyone know if Z-push needs a new installation after upgrade of Zimbra OSE 8.8 to 9 is done?

Many thanks in advance!

Hello joob77,
yesterday I migrated from CentOS 7 to Ubuntu 18.04 and Zimbra 8.8.15 to Zimbra 9.

In general Z-Push and the Zimbra backends are working on Zimbra 9 BUT (!!!) you need to stickt to PHP7.3 for the Z-Push Zimbra backend.

With PHP >= 7.4 they have removed some stuff and Zimbra backend stopped working.
There is already an ongoing ticket at their repository and also a development version but with the development version Z-Push itself (IPC part) won't run.
Spent ~2 hours to try to fix it but gave up and stayed with PHP 7.3.

@john_doe Thank you for your answer.

My php version is PHP 7.2.24-0ubuntu0.18.04.10 (cli) (built: Oct 25 2021 17:47:59)

So, guess i'm safe with that 😉

Grtz.
