Hello everyone,
We are trying to implement a sort of Hot Standby architecture. Our mail server is quite small (~100 mailbox) but for us a downtime on the mail server could be a big problem...
So, the idea is to have two virtual server, the second one just a copy of the master server.
We will manually turn on the slave server just if the master one will fail.
We installed ZexTras Backup module that is use a NFS connection mounted in RW on the master and in RO mode on the slave (we know that NFS is not the best solution, but for this first time we will try with NFS, maybe in a second time we will use a dedicated ISCSI storage changing the RW/RO setting.)
We will update the slave server using the "import backup" function, setting as the import path the NFS repository that has been written by the master server.
We tested it, and for ~100GB of mails it takes some hours as we expected..
Then we modified one account on the master server adding few mails, and one contact in the address list.
So we tried to redone the import (on all account and domain), but the Zextras Backup seems to ignore the previous restore. It just rewrite all mail on all account.
In fact, our idea is to do an import every hour, so in case of a failure on the first server we will have almost alle the mail messages on the second server.
So we will know, there is the possibilty to do a sort of "incremental restore"?
Thanks
