contact notes field is truncated when attempting to edit on the phone

My contact notes will display in full on the phone when opened from the contacts app. When I try to edit any contact with lengthy notes on the phone, it gets truncated to about 25 lines worth of data.

I have tried deleting and re-adding the exchange account from the phone, along with deleting the 'registered device' in the zxmobile admin module. I have also setup the same user account on a different android phone, nexus5, which I believe is on android v7(?), same results.

Has anyone else run across this and arrived at a fix?
