Hi,

I have encountered exactly the same issue as above (crackdj), now I am not sure if it is related to my ISP blocking port 25, but normally it should not be the case so when I type this, I get 20025!

zextras@mail:~$ zmprov gcf zimbraSmtpPort
zimbraSmtpPort: 20025

Is that strange or correct?

I have already Zimbra Network Ed. on another server working fine with a different IP address.

I just discovered Carbonio yesterday and installed it, I also went into the same Errors when using the Admin access page with Firefox and Edge, the solution proposed by a user allowed me to login despite that your team could not replicate those errors, I saw that few have had it as well.

I haven't had the time yet to read the whole manual, if you can point me to the link where I can add the chat and the files services, it would be nice, I can't actually tick/untick them in the Admin panel.

Last thing, I could not login with the iOS app and got an error, I tried 2 accounts without success.

Regarding Authorization in settings of the mail account, I tried to add and iOS password thinking I needed it to use the app but there was no place to type this password in the popup window and could only click button Done, after which it says I have successfully created a password which I don't know about.

Thank you very much for your nice work.

Hi,

I have contacted my ISP support and they confirmed that port 25 is blocked, reason why no emails can be sent or received and services cannot start.

I will need to find a turn around or use another port if possible.

Thank you

@rony

Hi, Thanks for sharing, for my case the problem is invalid reverse dns record from ISP so some destination domain was rejected email from my domain. Correcting DNS and Reverse DNS solves the problem.

@sharif I had configured all the records as mentioned, and for some domains, the emails are getting sent, but for Gmail, they are not getting sent; I received a bounce-back message. Also, for some times( like 2 or 3 times), I am able to send emails to Gmail.

Hi @sreeharis,

The error message 550 5.7.1 with the link to Google's support page indicates that the email you are trying to send has been rejected by Google's mail servers because it was identified as potentially unsolicited or spam.

Could please make sure that SPF, DKIM, DMARC, PTR records for your domains are published properly and try again?

sreeandsree19@gmail.com - 550 5.7.1  https://support.google.com/mail/?p=UnsolicitedMessageError  41be03b00d2f7-7d4cbe0bf2asi2862528a12.642 - gsmtp

Also, when you are managing an email server, I would suggest to take help of https://postmaster.google.com/ tool of Google to monitor your server/IP reputation.

Regards,

Sharif

@sreeharis

seems like the problem is

- Invalid DNS and reverse DNS lookup

- No properly DMARC is configure in DNS/domain provider

have you validate your mail domain using mxtoolbox.

@sreeharis

Hi,

Still I believe the gmail bounce back is from gmail end. May be if possible, just share the log from /var/log/carbonio.log and the complete header of the bounce back message.

Regards,

Sharif

Hi,

The following parts of the log clearly suggests that the email has been successfully delivered to the gmail SMTP (smtp.google.com)

Therefore, it is nothing related to CE. You have to look into other issues (DNS, IP reputation, domain reputation etc.) If you have any external gateway, you can try sending emails to gmail through that gateway and check the status.

Regards,

Sharif
