ZXChat 1.27 and emoji

We're having an issue displaying the emoji icons. All we see is the text representation of the emoji. We tested it on Firefox, Chrome and IE 11 in standard and dev modes with no success. We verified that the EMOTICIONS tab on the ZXChat preferences were enabled. This is how we see it:

We upgraded today from ZXSuite 2.0.0 to 2.0.1 and still have the issue (ZXChat is still 1.27).
