no more login after upgrade.

every login attempt ends in "auth credentials have expired" either on :443 and on :6071/carbonioAdmin/

btw, pending-setups fail, all the 3 scripts, with the same error:

Error determining policy ID: Get "http://127.0.0.1:8500/v1/acl/policies": dial tcp 127.0.0.1:8500: connect: connection refused
Setup failed: Cannot update policy carbonio-mta-policy

I notice that there is nothing listenning on 127.0.0.1:8500 ... what/which should be ?

looks like there is some consul configuration missing.

there is no CONSUL_HTTP_ADDR set.

You can't expect any consul service to works if there are not setup or running.

Hello @ruicadima,

That's right. we recommend using port 6071 to access the dedicated Admin Panel for Carbonio CE. Please stay tuned as we are going to release several updates adding more useful features to the Admin Panel.

Thank you very much for being with us.

Cheers!

Hi @arman

But the new Admin Panel doesn't seem ready to be used. Still has some very inconvenient bugs. For instance, most of the time the account list apears empty.

Is not possible to activate the old Admin Panel?

Hi @ruicadima,

No it's not possible however I suggest giving the admin panel a bit more time to grow, as you know Zextras releases new features every month for this product. I'm sure you will find the satisfaction you're seeking very soon.

Thank you for your patience and for being with us.

Cheers,

Arman

Hello everyone,

The Zextras crew is delighted to present Carbonio Community Edition 22.12.0 with various improvements and new features.

Features to highlight:

Automated Certificate Deployment for Virtual Hosts

Admins can now deploy certificates for multiple domains hosted on the same server at once without breaking a sweat. Now proxy config would be generated using the correct certificate and private key for each domain that has at least one virtual host name.

Local Caching for Previewer

Implementation of local caching can significantly improve preview performance in the previewer client. For instance, repeatedly viewing the same PDF document with the local cache enabled will result in much faster previews.

Deleting a Distribution List Warning

When an admin deletes a distribution list used to manage shared items, they will be presented with a warning informing them that all active shares associated with the list will be permanently lost.

Customizable Type Size

Users can now change the font size from Carbonio CE settings or select "Auto" for the system to automatically adjust the font size based on the screen resolution and device pixel ratio resulting in better readability.

Visual Improvements

This ensures that the layout and design system remain consistent across different display sizes and densities, paying close attention to spacing and element sizes. This also applies to different browsers to create a better user experience.

and many more improvements!

Check out the full changelog to know the whole list.

How to upgrade

To upgrade to the latest version simply run:

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

apt clean && apt update && apt upgrade

RHEL 8

dnf clean all && dnf update && dnf upgrade

We are grateful for your honest and useful feedback; it is a key factor in our success. We are open to any ideas, comments, or proposals for how to better our services, and we eagerly await hearing from you.

For more information read the Carbonio CE documentation.

@arman great progress, and love this new style of sharing new updates, it really gives a better context, looking from you messages from before, you mention that the system is atleast at this point prodcution ready, is this statement correct.

Also, how is Carbonio, in feature parity to Zimbra, maybe a comparision blog in the future would be great, but at the moment, whatsa the feature parity to zimbra for this. whats in here, thats not in zimbra, and whats still to be implemented in carbonio that was in zimvra before.

As for Admin interface, i understand you have a new admin dashboard, has it implemented all, if not most used features from the old zimbra admin.

Can i now confortable stop usign zimbra, and jump full ship to carbonio.

Thank you for this and thank you for the progress.

Thanks a lot @nitram for the inputs. I also liked the idea of the feature comparison; we will discuss that with our colleagues.

Hello everyone,

The Zextras crew is delighted to present Carbonio Community Edition 23.1.0 with various improvements and new features.

Features to highlight:

Copy existing calendar events

Users can now quickly and easily copy existing calendar events and create multiple instances of the same event, automatically filling out the relevant information.

"Emailed Contacts" in alphabetical order

Now you can sort all of your emailed contacts in alphabetical order which makes the searching and managing of these contacts easier and more convenient.

Sharing consul credentials among other servers

In a multi-server environment, sharing or copying service-discover-server credentials to all other servers is easier than ever during the installation.

Managing domain certificate

Domain admin can now verify the certificate pointed to their domain. And they will also be able to upload that certificate from their domain admin panel.

More control for admins over user

Admins can now terminate the current user session. They can also terminate multiple or all users’ sessions.

and many more improvements!

Check out the full changelog to know the whole list.

Will it be possible to create custom mail zones so that, for example, administrators can only edit their own mailboxes?

Video chat question. Will users from around the world be able to use video chat? Or does video chat only work within the local area network?

Have the issues beenresolved with this release?  I've raised elsewhere, but not getting responses.  I'm somewhat concerned about moving over to Carbonio, with what seems like little in the way for community communications or feedback regarding bugs.

I will have to move back to Zimbra as I currently have a broken mail server install based on what was recently pushed in to your RELEASE package tree.
