According to the docs it says that multi-server is now required and single server is no longer supported.  Is there any documentation as to how to migrate from an existing single server install to a multi-server install?  For example maybe moving roles off the single server over to it's dedicated server?

Second question:  Is there going to be an available Exchange ActiveSync function for the CE edition?  Can Zextras Mobile be used or is there a possibility of integrating z-push?  I know this is not necessary for the mobile devices because there is the app, however I have several users who like to use Outlook and currently use it against a Zimbra server using Zextras mobile.

Thanks,

Rich

I have successfully integrated Z-Push with Carbonio CE in the very same way I used to do it with Zimbra.

So this is the link to my tutorial installing Z-Push in the same server with Zimbra using a Docker image I did.

Z-Push no Zimbra: o jeito mais fácil!

I'm also pretty sure that any other way to install Z-push and integrate it with Zimbra will work fine on Carbonio CE.

@stefanodavid What about Step 4 on Carbonio CE Upgrade guide, for Single-Server?

Should we ignore it or replace carbonio-mailbox-db-bootstrap for carbonio-files-db-bootstrap ?

@anahuac

the correct command is carbonio-files-db-bootstrap. I have fixed that right now and it will appear in the doc soon.

I am sorry for any inconvenience. 😕

@stefanodavid

Grazie mille for coming up so fast! Yes, I forgot to mention I'm running on Single Server setup.

Cheers,

Gerard.

Hello everyone,

The Zextras crew is delighted to present Carbonio Community Edition 23.9.0 with various improvements and new features.

Features to highlight:

Enhanced Filters for Accounts and Mailing Lists
In the Carbonio Admin Panel, improvements have been made to the listing views of Accounts, and Mailing Lists. Admins can now sort and filter through columns more efficiently, allowing for better data management and quicker access.

Making the Life of Admins Easier
It means if users use a fraction of their email address/username/personal info in the password, then they will get an error as a security measure (i.e. Invalid password: password contains username or other personal data).

Delegated Admins are Restricted to Delete System Accounts
Delegated admins cannot delete system accounts (i.e. galsync etc.). Therefore, the admin can assign delegation without worrying too much.

More Assistance for Administrators
Carbonio is designed to be watchful of human error. So if a system uses external LDAP/AD for authentication and the sysadmin is trying to set up or configure user credentials, Carbonio will warn the administrator.

Preview Items Beforehand
Isn't it more convenient to get a preview of the item (doc, ppt, pdf) without even opening it? From Carbonio 23.9.0 you will be able to preview items without breaking a sweat of downloading and opening it.

Visibility and Agility for Domain Management
Global admins can now get a list of all domains of their system in a single list. Even better, they can click on the domain name of that list and will be redirected to the settings details of that domain. You can also do this using the drop-down menu of Domains. So feel free to be comfortable with the system however you like.

Dedicated MTA Panel
Great News! Carbonio Admin Panel has the much-awaited and expected MTA section. Now, customizing the behavior of the MTA of your server is not only convenient but also more elaborate than ever. You will find many useful options in the Carbonio MTA section, which were only accessible for system admins through the CLI.

Dedicated Public Service Hostname for All Domains You Manage
Carbonio allows you to set individual HTTP endpoints for all the domains in your server infrastructure. So, each time the user browses or interacts with the domain endpoint, Carbonio knows which domain he/she is surfing.

Latest LTS JVM for Carbonio
Carbonio 23.9.0 will run on the JVM17, the most recent long-term support (LTS) release of the Java SE Platform. A major security boost for the system.

Users True assistant
Have you ever missed adding the subject or the mentioned attachment? From Carbonio 23.9.0, you will never be embarrassed again by missing these things. Carbonio will warn you if you miss them. Let Carbonio be the watcher of your chores.

Enhanced Uploading Process
In Carbonio CE, you will get a real-time visible status of attachment uploading progress. Not only that, Carbonio will prevent you from sending emails accidentally if the uploading is not completed.

and many more improvements!

Check out the full changelog to know the whole list.

How to upgrade

To upgrade your Carbonio CE, follow the simple instructions provided in the official Carbonio CE Upgrade Documentation.

We are grateful for your honest and useful feedback; it is a key factor in our success. We are open to any ideas, comments, or proposals for improving our services, and we eagerly await hearing from you.

Greetings @arman, I want to thank first of all the enormous effort for the intensive development that the Carbonio team makes to deliver a quality product as a collaborative platform.

Is it possible to fix this bug?
https://community.zextras.com/forum/general-info/name-undefined-in-mail/
https://community.zextras.com/forum/carbonio-general-thread/undefined-in-common-name-in-from-or-to-for-edit-or-create-a-new-message/

This bug has been around for several months; reported since and also has no fix in 23.9.0
Thank you very much for your attention.

Hello @cleverflores,

I appreciate your feedback and recognition of the Carbonio team's efforts in developing their collaborative platform.

I will remind the developers about the bugs. These bugs are still in the team's backlog, so there may have been some trouble fixing them.

Best regards,

Arman

Hi guys,  problem is solved.

Problem was not resulting from the upgrade but from a previous error with zmprov

log message:

java.lang.numberformatexception: for input string

make me suspect of a wrong parameter somewhere

the wrong command was

zmprov modifyConfig zimbraFileUploadMaxSize 47888000000

when it show be

zmprov modifyConfig zimbraFileUploadMaxSize 47888000

(Kbytes and not bytes)

Thanks anyway

Keep the good work and have a nice day

Congratulations for the new upgrade... many new nice things around making it more efficient and pleased to use.

MTA options are finally out! that's great but sadly some things are not working.

MTA -> Outbound Flow

"My Network" is greyed and didn't allow me to add anything. Even though I was expecting to see zimbraMtaMyNetworks value in there, it's not, it's empty.

But not only that, non of the options there are available to setup, like SMTP HELO Name, My Hostname, Fallback Relay Host, Relay Host and My Origin. They are all greyed and not allowing to edit.

I wish it's a minor issue and easy to fix.
