@donty Correct, I have deleted the zimbra repos from apt. (long ago) Only updates are from Zextras packages.
@martinwiertz I seem to have lost the Zextras theme - tried downloading and reinstalling but it wont show even after a restart, no errors apparent. Anyone else had this with the update?
@martinwiertz The update itself went well, thanks for the confirmation!
@donty I use the Zextras theme from the Zextras suite. It is included in the package. Reinstalling it went well and the theme and admin pages are present.
Any errors visible?
Hi
A coule of days ago I tried getting the download link for the latest update package and I still never got the link emailed back to me.
This seems to happen every single time I try it. I can't see it even connect to my email server so the problem must be on the zextras servers.
The last time before this package I tried to update everything broke even though I didn't use the zimbra repositiories. Not sure why but I had to back out fully from the update.
Can someone help me with the download link for Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS ?

This one?
wget download.zextras.com/zcs-9.0.0_OSE_UBUNTU18_latest-zextras.tgz
@martinwiertz Thanks for the link. I hope this update will work better than the last one..
@daz let us know! Previous post in this topic are successfull.
Right now it seems to be working fine.
Had to manually restart the services one time after the upgrade though as the emails just queued up as they could not connect to port 7025 internally. Now it works afaik.. Lets hope it keeps like it.
Thanks again for the link.
@martinwiertz No, its odd - seems it detects it from before and doesnt actually do anything.
root@mail ~/zextras-theme-installer # ./install.sh

Note, selecting 'zextras-theme' instead of '/root/zextras-theme-installer/packages/zextras-theme_1.0.1_amd64.deb'
zextras-theme is already the newest version (1.0.1-0ubuntu1~).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Doesnt show in the list of themes in the ui nor in /opt/zimbra/jetty/webapps/zimbra/skins/ so might need to work through what the install does and see where what should go. Unless I can uninstall and reinstall using the script. Not got zextras suite installed but should be simple... 😉
Any suggestions always welcome!
OK, just looked in the general.sh and did a run of:
apt install -y --reinstall /root/zextras-theme-installer/packages/*.deb
and it ran with some errors
W: Repository is broken: zextras-theme:amd64 (= 1.0.1-0ubuntu1~) has no Size information
N: Download is performed unsandboxed as root as file '/root/zextras-theme-installer/packages/zextras-theme_1.0.1_amd64.deb' couldn't be accessed by user '_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied)
but the theme now has repopulated after a mailbox restart.
So at I am back and running - thanks all esp @martinwiertz
@arman Worked without any problems. Thanks to the Zextras Team!
Hi all,
Zimbra have already release patch 33 GA. We are leveraging Zextras and we are following build:
Release 9.0.0_ZEXTRAS_20221203.RHEL7_64_20221216110457 RHEL7_64 FOSS edition which is 9.0.0 p28.
Checking on https://zextras.com/thankyou-zextras-build-zimbra/, latest version still shows
9.0.0p28
My question is how often do Zextras releases new build to address pacth 33.
Can we perfom yum update command to update Zimbra ? Considering we are using Zextras, will yum update will download latest patch or we will have to wait for Zextras to release a new build addressing CVE and necessary patch ?
Thanks for your time.
Hello @dmnuser,
Zextras will be releasing only two more updates for Zimbra 9 patches. The first update is scheduled for the end of July 2023, while the second update will be released in early 2024, incorporating the available patch at that time. The development process may be slower due to the busy schedules of our developers, but they strove to prepare builds for the community whenever possible.
Regarding your second question, using "yum update" to download the patch is not applicable. Instead, you will need to wait for Zextras to release a new build that already includes the latest patch.
